With the development of ecoomy in China, the electric drag equipments of high
voltage and large capacit increase gradually, among which the AC drag system of
10KV (6KV) increases rapidly.
For high voltage AC motors with medium and large capacity, the most important
problem is starting. Through direct start has many advantages such as easy,
economical and short starting time, the starting current (usually 5-7 times the
rated current) is big. which causes a serious problem of over current impact on
the power network and the motor.lt is proved that even if the capacity of the
power network allows direct starting, the heat impact and electro-dynamic impact
on the motor caused by direct starting current is very harmful. Because when the
motor is directly started, the temperature may increase by ablut 150'C even in
about 10 seconds, which tends to damage the motor axis is big. the starting time
will be prolonged, then more harm will be caused by the direct start. In
addition, some equipments and procedures require smooth start. The direct start
may impact and damage the equipment or affect the product quality. Therefore,
the starting performance of the motor should be given enough importance.
At present, high voltage motor develops rapidly in China, while the
complementary starting devices are rather out of date. The traditional reactor
starting with reduced voltage and direct starting can obtain rather large
starting torque under the same starting conditions, but they connot meet the
requirements of smooth starting and small impact. In addition, the costs are not
low enough.
Therefore, we recommend the WKGY1 series high voltage liquid resistor soft
starting cabinet, which is to be used in high voltage squirrel cage motors with
medium and large capacity.Under certaqin static operation condition, it has the
same performance as reactors.Under dynamic operation condition, it can provide
non-step continuous starting. Since it makes use of the negative temperature
character of the liquid resistor, the voltage of the motor and the starting
torque may increase gradually. Therefore, the motor is smoothly started. With
silmple structure and high reliability, this system is economical, easy to
install, operate and maintain.
WKGY1 series high voltage liquid resistor soft start cabinet is to be applied to
many industries such as metallurgy, construction material, mine, petroleum,
chemistry, water supply, power industry and so on. It is used to provide heavy
starting in various high voltage motors with medium and large capacity such as
pumps, fans, compressors.rolling mills, crushers, belt conveyers and so on . It
has many features such as small and static current,which is an ideal replacement
for traditional reactor starting with reduced voltage and direct starting. |

WKGY1 Series Principle |
The high voltage soft starter is series connected to the main circuit of the
squirrel cage motor,and makes use of its balanced three-phase resistor in
different temperature.When current is applied to the resistor, the temperature
of the resistor increases and the resistor value decreases gradually, so that
the voltage of the motor and the starting torque increase gradually and then the
purpose of obtaining smooth motor starting and reduced starting current is
reached.
The high voltage soft starting cabinet is connected to the motor starting
circuit through high voltage switch cabinet (starting control cabinet). This
high voltage switch cabinet has many functions such as starting the
motor,cutting off the power supply circuit,providing protection to the hgh
voltage heat distortion resistor when it finishes the starting process by itself
so that the resistor won't be electrified all the time. |

WKGY1 Series Operation & Maintenance Condition |
01、Ambient temperture: 0℃ -40℃(The average temperature within 24 hours should
not exced 35℃);
02、Relative humidity: no more than 90%;
03、Altitude: no higher than 2000m;
04、The starter should be placd indoors where there is no big vibration or
impact;and the vertical gradient should not exceed 5°;
05、No electric dust and corrosive gas is allowed, and it should be placed in the
situation without any danger of fire or explosion;
06、The high voltage soft starter cabinet is not applicable in frequentstarting
situations. It is allowed to start the motor three time or have an accumulated
starting time no more than 120S. The resistor cabinet should be released from
the electric circuit after it is used so that it won' t have electricity for a
long time;
07、Periodical test should be carried out in order to see whether thereis any
unusual condition such as leakage,creepage and so on;
08、An annual test should be carried out to the liquid resistor cabinet with
voltage resistance of 42KV. |
