General of WKR5000 Series Moto Soft Starter |
WKR5000 motor soft starter is applicable for three-phase AC squirrel cage
asynchronous motors of 5.5kW~600kW and AC 380V~1140V, 50 (60)Hz, rated current
1200A and below, the panel operation display mode not only is convenient for
parameter setting and modifying as well as understanding various functions of
soft starter for users, but also is convenient for observing the working state
of soft starter and motor; it has perfect protection functions for motor
starting and running without being equipped with thermal relay; its closed-loop
control sharply improves stationarity and reliability of soft torque start and
soft torque stop of motor; it employs bypass contactor for running, the
operating power consumption is almost zero, this improves its reliability while
reducing its volume.
The motor soft starter is of unit type, a circuit breaker (for short-circuit
protection) and AC contactor (for bypass after finishing starting) are required
to be installed in the cabinet, and form into motor control circuit with the
switch. |

Service Conditions of soft starter |
01、Installation site should be in compliance with the following service
conditions and installation methods, otherwise, it is difficult to guarantee the
performance of WKR5000 motor soft starter, the service life of soft starter
would be reduced, the soft starter even would be damaged.
02、Mains voltage: AC 380V-1140V, 50/60HZ.
03、Applicable motor: squirrel cage three-phase asynchronous motor, rated power
of motor should be matched with the rated power of soft starter.
04、Starting frequency: not over 15 times per hour.
05、Cooling mode: natural air cooling。
06、Degree of protection: IP20
07、Ambient temperature: -30 ℃ ~+55 ℃
08、Ambient humidity: relative humidity not exceed 95%, no condensation
09、Service place: draughty, free of corrosive gas or conductive dust, vibration
should be lower than 0.5G.
10、Altitude: <3000m, if the altitude exceeds this height, please improve the
power of soft starter correspondingly. |

Applicable Industry |
Water pump-makes use of water hammer phenomenon releasing pump during soft stop,
saves system maintenance cost.
Ball mill-makes use of the ramp voltage start to reduce wear of gear torque and
maintenance workload, it not only saves time, but also saves cost.
Fan-reduces belt wear and mechanical shock, saves maintenance cost.
Compressor-makes use of rotation-clogging protection and quick protection
functions, preventing from motor burn out due to overheating caused by
mechanical failure or block.
Transfer mechanism-realizes smooth starting through soft start, preventing
product displacement or overflowing of liquid. |

Notes:
1、In setting state, if there isn't any key operation for over 2min, it would
exit the setting state automatically.
2、Operation of parameter setting can be carried out in any state except soft
start or soft stop state.
3、 Push down YES to start up, you are able to get back the set parameters
(except PD) to default value. |

Wiring method & External control terminals |
WKR5000 series motor soft starter has two types of wiring method:
Wiring of main loop: including wiring of three-phase power inputting/outputting
main motor, wiring of circuit breaker and bypass contactor.
Wiring of control terminal: there are 12 miniature connection terminals for
leading out, including the control line of bypass contactor, control line of
ON/OFF switch, and analog output signal line. |

Terminals 1 and 2 are of passive normally open contacts, used for controlling of
bypass contactor, they will close after successful start.
Terminals 3 and 4 are for programmable time delay output, output function and
mode are determined by the set item PD, they are passive contacts.
Terminals 5 and 6 are for fault output, they will close when the motor soft
starter comes across troubles or power failure, and open in normal condition,
they are power contacts.
Terminals 7, 8, 9 and 10: form into the external control circuit; they are
passive contacts.
Terminal 10 is a common port
Terminal 7 is for instantaneous stop input: when 7 is disconnected from 10,
motor soft starter stops working. (Used for connecting with thermal relay NC)
Terminal 8 is for soft stop input: when 8 is disconnected from 10, it is soft
stopped. (Need not autolocking)
Terminal 9 is for soft start input: when 9 is connected with 10, it is soft
started.(Need not autolocking)
The above wirings are of three-wire control mode, when terminals 8 and 9 are
connected in parallel and used as one terminal, they are able to start once
connecting with 10, and stop once breaking, they can be applied to a relay
contact to control start/stop, this is two-wire control
Terminals 11 and 12 are 0~20mA DC analog output, max output resistance is 300Ω. |
